Call For Special Sessions Now Open
The Conference Organising Committee invites proposals for Special Sessions at the First Southern Hemisphere Conference on Permafrost (SouthCOP), a regional conference of the IPA, being held in Queenstown, New Zealand from 4-14 December 2019.

Approximately 90-100 minute long session times are available. Prospective organisers of Special Sessions should submit proposals indicating:

Title and abstract:
Propose a title and a brief abstract of approximately 100 words that will allow conference attendees to understand the topic and the focus of the special session/workshop (If accepted, this information will appear on the conference website and handbook).

Proposed speakers:
Please provide the name and contact details (organisation and email address) for the nominated special session chairperson and a list of invited speakers and provisional titles for their talks.

Special session proposals must be submitted to the Conference Manager via email ([email protected]) by 1 November 2018.

Proposals for special sessions will be reviewed by the Conference Organising Committee; the committee may ask for changes and resubmission of proposals, if appropriate. Results of the review will be sent to chairs of proposed sessions by 15 November 2018 (prior to the call for abstracts).

The procedure for the submission of special session abstracts is the same for all conference abstracts, and it will be made through the SouthCOP19 webpage. Authors will be asked to indicate the Special Session title to which their abstract is submitted.
